If Earth was a human body, the surface of stones would be its skin, with its roughness, transparency, colours, touched by light grazing or diffuse, with its slow transformation. It would be like an eternal skin, unlike ours, a skin which can trace the history of humanity. You would feel like touching it until you could sink in its clarity, to search for things in its folds to recapture what already existed in our thoughts always. To penetrate this negative and positive, as the perception of an inside and an outside. And stone, as matter, is the skin of nature.
